Following the UK's withdrawal from the Unified Patent Court Agreement in July 2020, the UK government has published a statutory instrument to repeal and revoke the domestic legislation concerning the Unified Patent Court and the Unitary Patent. The statutory instrument is made under section 8 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, which is designed to deal with deficiencies arising from the UK's withdrawal from the EU.
This Instrument repeals and revokes domestic legislation concerning the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and the European Patent with Unitary Effect (Unitary Patent or UP).
