Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place between 18-24 May 2020. This year the theme is ‘kindness’ which is directly aligned to Lewis Silkin’s own company values, having developed our own 'Kindness Code' to support employees during lockdown.
Research shows that kindness and our mental health are deeply connected, strengthening relationships, developing community and deepening solidarity. Studies show kindness can be an antidote to isolation and create a sense of belonging. So what better time than during the coronavirus pandemic to boost kindness amongst ourselves and others to promote feelings of optimism for a positive future and a kinder society. Looking after our mental health is paramount during these challenging times, but especially for those who are most vulnurable.
Advertisers have embraced kindness as a common theme to connect with the public over the last few weeks, with some touching and heartfelt messages to unite us all.
