Lewis Silkin was delighted to host its first Dublin LS Mixer @ 6 this month for Irish based in-house counsel working in the creative, innovative and brand centric sectors in Ireland. The mixer is an opportunity for in-house counsel to hear from Lewis Silkin on the burning issues in their industry but also (and more importantly) to network and benchmark with fellow in-house counsel.
Topics covered at the first mixer included learnings on GDPR from the ICO applicable to Ireland, the priorities for the DPC in the next 12 months and the dreaded 'b' word - Brexit! Held in the funky penthouse in the Dean Hotel the mixer was certainly a success.
LS Mixer @ 6, Dublin will be hosted again in the near future so if you or a colleague are interested in attending get in touch with Keith Donaldson on firstname.lastname@example.org or feel free to contact any of our mixer team below:
The Republic’s data protection commissioner expects to have to seek additional funding and staff for 2020 given its role in regulating technology companies located in the European Union. Speaking at the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland’s US-Ireland business conference, Helen Dixon said when she took over as commissioner the commission had about 26 staff, “we now have 133 today, we’re recruiting another 30 this year and we anticipate we’ll be seeking additional budget for next year”.
